Refurbs Flint are calling for those able to lend a helping hand to assist with various roles across the charity, such as organisational work in the warehouse, assisting with the community fridge, and upcycling secondhand furniture.
Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference for people in the local community, to learn new skills, make new friends and have fun. Refurbs regularly work with volunteers, and getting involved in one of our projects could put you in a strong position to obtain full-time work.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Warehouse Assistance: Volunteers will be involved in various tasks within our warehouse, such as sorting, organizing, and preparing furniture items for resale. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our charity and the efficient distribution of furniture to those who need it most.
Upcycling Furniture: If you have a flair for creativity and enjoy hands-on projects, consider trying your hand at furniture upcycling. Volunteers in this role will contribute to transforming donated furniture into unique, refurbished pieces. This not only adds to the value of items but also promotes sustainable practices.
Community Fridge: Volunteers will work alongside the retail team at Refurbs Flint to provide access to the fridge when customers come to collect food. They will be asked to keep the dedicated Community Fridge area clean and tidy and follow Food Safety guidance (LEVEL 2 Food Safety training will be provided). Other duties will include weighing food and signing food in and out.
