Nant Mill has stood beside the River Clywedog for centuries, evolving from a 15th-century corn mill to a cherished 20th-century visitor centre. After closing in 2018, its future became uncertain — but today we have a real opportunity to change that.

A new chapter for Nant Mill

The Nant Mill Community Trust, working within the Clywedog Valley Partnership and with support from Wrexham County Borough Council and Groundwork North Wales, has the opportunity of a long lease to restore the site and run it for the community.

Nant Mill plays a key role in a major £1.7m regeneration project to revitalise the Clywedog Valley. The National Lottery Heritage Fund has already backed the project at Stage 1, with a potential £1.26m full award if the project is successful at Stage 2.

Why fundraising is essential

The Partnership must raise £460,000 in match funding to unlock the Heritage Fund grant. Nant Mill’s share of this is £40,000, contributing to the wider restoration of the Nant Mill site.

What restoration will deliver:

• A reopened visitor centre

• New educational displays and wildlife interpretation

• A vibrant community space linked to the wider Clywedog Trail

How you can help

The Nant Mill Community Trust is running a crowdfunding campaign to support the long term vision for the site. Your donation moves us closer to reopening Nant Mill for everyone and supporting enjoyment of the wider Clywedog valley once again — for families, walkers, schools, community groups and future generations.
